Kansa Wand

Let's talk: Kansa Wand

Today, I want to talk about our most beloved product Kansa Wand. As you know, I am all about bringing back of those grandma nostalgia back, as I truly believe they lived non-toxic, sustainable, and most natural life! And frankly, in this modern times, are we doing same? (Check out our Ayurvedic Selfcare Ritual Guide).

Today’s topic is no exception. We are talking about one of my favorite clean & sustainable beauty product from our Green-Beauty Co: the Kansa Wand. As holiday season is approaching, I believe this is the best stocking stuffer. It is truly Ayurveda’s best-kept secret from our grandma which I would like to bring it here in United States. So, let's start from foundation. As you know, India is a pretty hot country, with summer temperatures reaching as high as 100 degrees F.

During that time, my grandma used to keep a small, circular “kansa bowl.” She used to massage the bottom of her feet with the circular bottom of the kansa bowl after applying coconut oil over them. She would tell us, “It’s the best way to remove toxins from the body by moving lymph during hot temperatures.” At that time, I never knew that in the year 2023,  I would be talking about this magical tool: the Kansa Wand to you all.

So, What is a Kansa Wand?

A kansa wand is made up of a metal called “kansa.” The word kansa comes from Sanskrit, India’s sacred language. Kansa means “bronze,” a metal alloy comprised primarily of copper, tin and zinc. In Ayurveda, copper is known to relieve pain, inflammation and arthritis. Tin helps relax muscles and reduce headaches and insomnia. Zinc boosts immunity, digestion power and is good for diabetes.

Due to all these qualities, kansa, i.e. bronze, possesses a dominant healing power. That’s why in India there is a great importance placed on “Kansa Dinnerware” as well. But today, we are going to talk about the soft glow and powerful healing of the kansa wand.

The kansa wand is a facial/foot massage device made of wood and kansa metal designed to balance your doshas, chakras, and the skin’s pH level. It’s the Indian/ayurvedic equivalent of a jade roller. The kansa wand helps in reducing inflammation and puffiness of the skin, diminishing the appearance of under-eye circles, and stimulating the lymphatic system and blood circulation. It also helps brighten the complexion and tighten pores.

The lymphatic system is essentially the skin’s natural detoxing mechanism. It collects waste in the form of fluid from all the cells in your body. After that, it also filters toxicity and circulates the good stuff back into the circulatory system. That leaves the lymph nodes full of all the toxins they’ve removed — which is the primary function of this system. The lymphatic system also produces immune cells to kill bacteria and stop infections from spreading. The kansa wand was engineered specifically to aid in lymphatic drainage.

Understanding the Healing Power of Kansa Wand

So, after hearing the many many advantages of the kansa wand, let’s learn how to use it. The kansa wand can be used in the same way as a jade roller. It is an excellent message tool.

Generally, after applying any natural skincare product, especially facial oil, move the kansa wand in a circular motion. Start with gentle pressure at the center of the forehead and move out towards the hairline in little circles. Now, massage under the eyes and cheekbones and move out towards the hairline.

Next, work your way down towards the jawbone, starting at the center of the chin. Lastly, massage out towards the bottom of the ear.

For centuries, the Kansa Wand has been utilized in Ayurvedic medicine as a powerful tool for healing and rejuvenation. It's a therapeutic massage tool made from a blend of copper and tin, known as 'Kansa.' It's believed to balance your doshas, chakras, and skin’s pH level.

Being integral to the ancient practice of Ayurveda, the Kansa Wand delivers a multitude of benefits. Its use not only helps to relieve tension and stress but promotes healthy skin by enhancing blood circulation, thereby encouraging cellular regeneration.

Moreover, the Kansa Wand also detoxifies by drawing out acidity and inflammation, services that are essential for combating the adverse effects of modern lifestyle habits and environmental pollutants. Regular use of this remarkable tool can help improve your complexion, bolster radiance, and provide a healthy aging effect.
