Self Care Round the Clock
We all know how important self-care is. We've been told time and time again that we need to make sure to take care of ourselves first and foremost. But what does that actually mean? And how do you find the time to do it all when you're already so busy taking care of everyone else?
In this blog post, I'm going to be talking about self-care around the clock. I'm going to give you some tips and tricks on how to fit in a little bit of self-care into your everyday life, no matter how busy you are. Trust me, it can be done! So let's get started...
Define what self care means to you
To me, self care is not only the act of taking time to relax and do something special for yourself, but also understanding and taking responsibility for your own health. Self care means being mindful and understanding that every individual has different needs; it could be anything from physical such as pampering yourself with an indulgent oil cleanser like a double cleanser routine or paying attention to important details like your skin ph level. It can also be emotional, such as taking time to chat on the phone with friends or writing down positive thoughts in a journal. To me, self care is all about connecting with yourself and making sure you prioritise habits and practices that help contribute to your wellbeing.
Why is self care important
Taking care of your physical and mental health through self-care is essential. Life can be busy and stressful, so it’s important to take a break every now and then to focus on yourself and practice some self-love. Effective self-care leads to improved concentration, greater happiness, better relationships with others, increased motivation, and overall enhanced well-being. Taking care of yourself should be a top priority, because if you don't look after your mental and physical health the best you can then you won’t have the strength or stamina to progress in life as rapidly or efficiently as you would like. Self-care is about listening to your body, mind, and spirit so that you can be the best person possible for yourself and those around you.
Tips for fitting self care into a busy schedule
Self care is an important part of staying healthy and happy, but it can be hard to squeeze into a packed schedule. The key is to pick activities that don't take up too much time and use whatever spare moments you have. For example, try writing down three things you're grateful for each morning to start the day on a positive note. If you have even 5 minutes in between appointments, use that time to stretch or do some deep breathing. And if your days are truly hectic, why not devote 30 minutes every other day or once a week to self-care like taking a hot bath or having lunch with friends? Little bits of self-care go a long way!
The benefits of making time for self care
Taking the time to practice self care can make all the difference in your life! It is essential to periodically check in with yourself and offer some kindness. This could include anything from meditation, journaling, or simply going for a walk to clear your head. Additionally, allowing yourself moments throughout the day to relax, recharge, and be mindful of how you're feeling can help stave off feelings of anxiety or other negative emotions. Taking these breaks allows us to engage in meaningful activities that bring us joy and give us the space we need to take care of our mental health.
Taking care of ourselves is really important, so it's no surprise that many of us understand the importance of creating and sticking to self-care routines. Routine can be hard in today’s world, however, with so much going on! But having a reliable and consistent routine can increase not only our productivity but also our self-confidence. One great way to start is by making lists--planning the things you need to complete in the days ahead and breaking those tasks down into daily goals. Break those even further into manageable chunks throughout the day to make sure that you're completing your small goals, and this will help ensure that you don't become overwhelmed. Most importantly, remember to give yourself credit for every achievement made and don't be too hard on yourself if a few things slip through! Take five minutes each day to appreciate yourself for all the effort you've put in so far and stick with it--you'll thank yourself later.
Now that you know what self care is and why it’s so important, it’s time to start fitting it into your schedule. And even though it may seem like a lot of work to add one more thing to your plate, trust me when I say that it’s worth it. Not only will you feel better physically, but you’ll also notice an improvement in your mental health, stress levels, and overall mood. So go ahead and give yourself permission to take some time for YOU – you deserve it!
